WELCOME

The Rex was opened in December 1960. At the time the completion of the Hotel was the largest project in Canberra since World War II. The Rex Hotel is centrally located to access all the city’s best shopping, theatres, galleries, museums and restaurants. National institutions like The War Memorial, Parliament House, National Museum & Gallery and the Australian Institute of Sport are each an easy 5-10 minute drive. The Canberra International Airport is a 15 minute drive. Taxis and buses are at our door.

The Rex’s 157 guest rooms are located over 4 floors. Many rooms have views of Mount Ainslie, Black Mountain and of the City. A variety of room configurations are available to suit all needs including King, Twins, Family interconnecting rooms and suites.

Our 24 hour Reception and Business centre, and complimentary on site carparking are available for your use. Wireless internet access available (additional cost) throughout the hotel.

Millie’s Restaurant and Bar is open 7 days for our popular buffet Breakfast, and for Dinner, Monday to Friday serving traditional wholesome food, complemented by a varied wine list.

Room service Dinner is available Monday to Friday.

Our events and conference facilities include a choice of 8 different rooms providing seating from 15 to 250 persons. The Rex has an extensive selection of food and beverage packages to suit every budget and taste. We can provide state-of-the-art AV equipment upon request.

We host Meetings, Conferences, Lunch and Dinner Theatre shows, Award nights, Balls, Annual dinners, Team building & Personal development retreats, Reunions, Birthdays, Anniversaries and Weddings.
